Will the Griffin Twins be around to defend the 6A Crown?

The Griffin Twins: Will Adam and Jacob Return to Defend Pascagoula’s Crown?

Few stories captured the attention of Mississippi high school basketball last season quite like the rise of the Pascagoula Panthers.

For the first time in school history, the Panthers climbed to the top of the mountain and brought home a state championship. At the center of that historic run were two players who have become household names across the state: twins Adam and Jacob Griffin.

Now, just months after helping deliver the biggest moment in Pascagoula basketball history, one question continues to circulate among fans, coaches, and scouts:

Will the Griffin twins return to Pascagoula, or will they be playing somewhere else next season?
It’s a question that has become one of the biggest storylines of the offseason.

The twins have quickly established themselves among Mississippi’s elite young talents, currently ranked among the Top 6 players in the state. Their combination of skill, toughness, and ability to perform under pressure has college coaches and basketball enthusiasts paying close attention.

If there was any doubt about Adam Griffin’s ability to shine on the biggest stage, he erased it during the state championship game.

Adam was named Most Valuable Player after a spectacular performance against Terry, delivering when the lights were brightest. Throughout the Panthers’ championship run, it seemed that every time Pascagoula needed a play, Adam answered the call. Whether it was scoring, defending, or creating momentum-changing moments, he consistently elevated his game when it mattered most.

His performance didn’t just help secure a championship—it elevated his status as one of the state’s premier prospects.

But the Griffin story isn’t complete without Jacob.

While Adam earned MVP honors, Jacob delivered one of the most clutch moments of the season. In the state semifinals against Callaway, with everything on the line, Jacob calmly knocked down critical free throws to help seal the victory and send the Panthers to the championship game.

Championship teams need stars.

They also need players who embrace pressure.

Jacob proved he could do exactly that.

Together, the twins have become one of the most dynamic duos in Mississippi basketball.

Their talent has also sparked another conversation:

Can Adam and Jacob Griffin become Division I basketball players?

Many evaluators believe they have all the tools necessary to play at the next level. Their athleticism, basketball IQ, competitive nature, and ability to perform in high-pressure situations have made them attractive prospects for college programs. As they continue to develop physically and expand their skill sets, their recruiting profiles are expected to grow even stronger.

The uncertainty surrounding their future became even more intriguing following a major coaching change.
After spending the past decade building the Pascagoula program, Lorenzo Wright recently accepted the head coaching position at Harrison Central. Wright leaves behind a championship culture and a team that believes its historic title was only the beginning.

Now a new coaching staff will take over a program that suddenly has championship expectations.
The question is whether the Griffin twins will be part of that next chapter.

If they return, Pascagoula could immediately find itself back in the conversation as one of Mississippi’s top teams and a legitimate contender to repeat as state champions. Their experience, leadership, and championship pedigree would make the Panthers a difficult matchup for anyone.

If they decide to pursue opportunities elsewhere, they would instantly become impact players wherever they land, bringing championship experience and proven production with them.

For now, no official decisions have been announced.

What is certain is this: wherever Adam and Jacob Griffin play basketball next season, people will be watching.
They have already proven they can perform on the biggest stage Mississippi high school basketball has to offer. Their names are becoming increasingly familiar among recruiters, and their future appears incredibly bright.

Whether they’re wearing Pascagoula blue and white or another uniform, one thing remains clear.

Adam and Jacob Griffin are must-see basketball.

And college scouts would be wise to keep a close eye on what happens next.
